Galleta on her magic cushion
Cats appear to glide through life, only rarely concerned with circumstances. And when they sleep they sink into realms of relaxation seldom touched by humans. This is their super-power, and in my view that's the reason for their proverbial 9 lives.
The final of 7 explorations in monochromatic oils on canvas, inspired by our current times of change. 80cm x 80cm. In my one semi-successful attempt at past-life regression (following a guided hypnotic meditation from youtube last week), I had been shocked to discover, looking down at my feet, that I was a woman, and the impression I received was that I was in Minoan Crete. Well ... I painted while engrossed in that vision as well as lloyd Meeker's 7th step: love ... and I'm astonished at the results. The myth of the conception of the minotaur, or (as I first perceived) a priestess walking?
The 6th of 7 abstract canvases based on my experiences in 2020, a time of extraordinary change, and transformation. 120 x 120 cm. Oil on canvas.
"Wisdom gives Perfect Direction in all matters but that Wisdom is released into activity through the outer self at the instant that it is needed, and not before. He who would allow Wisdom to manifest through him must first recognize that the servant is not informed of all the future plans and activities of the Master. Realizing this, the Blessed One obeys the Wisdom which directs him in this present instant, remaining unconcerned about the future."
The 5th of 7 monochromatic abstract experiments based on my experience in 2020. 80 X 80 cm. Oil on canvas.
"Radiance is the wellspring of Life, and it relates to the Temple of Light. Radiance is the Shining of the Wonderful One, and Radiance always is; yet no man can know that Radiance until he has let the Wonderful One have His Way." (Lloyd Meeker - The Seven Steps to the Temple of Light)
120 x 120 cm. Oils on canvas. "Inner Assurance comes not from outer-mind attempts to use so-called willpower, nor is it to be found in endless repetitions of so-called affirmations, for the only Source of such Assurance is the Wonderful One within. When the outer mind has let go of all its desires and wants, it is absorbed by Tranquility, and out of Tranquility comes the Realization of the Presence of the Wonderful One. When the Presence is known, the fullness of all things is found to be in that Presence, and from this conviction in the Wonderful One comes Assurance."
"Realization relates to the Spiritual Expression Nature of the outer man. In Realization is recognition of that which is. In Realization there is a perfect letting go, for in this State the Blessed One ceases to want anything whatsoever, and of desire there is none. Herein there is no effort to strive, or struggle, or climb, for the Blessed One does nothing for a reward."
The second of 7 monochromatic canvases portraying my experience in a time of intense personal and collective change. "Tranquility relates to the mental nature of the outer man. The Way of Tranquility is the Way of the Wonderful One."
120 x 120 cm. (prints available at https://fineartamerica.com/featured/life-in-a-cocoon-2-orange-marco-menato.html)
The first of 7 monochromatic canvases portraying my experience in a time of intense personal and collective change. "Patience relates to the physical nature of the outer man. In it is a resignation to the Will of the Wonderful One within. In it is a perfect unconcern in regard to that which may take place in the outer world. In true Patience is the steadfast attitude toward the unreal, "IT MATTERS NOT TO ME.""
Oils, tempera, albumen, local pigments on canvas. 80 x 80 cm

What is our relationship with nature ... and how central is it to know the answer for ourselves? I deliberately engage the senses to explore subjectively my connection with other species, and ultimately with the natural order itself. It takes a change of heart ... toward green.
135 x 100 cm, oil on canvas. Once a month, depending on the weather, I am treated to the spectacle provided by the full moon hovering over the ocean. Each one is subtly unique. The ocean turns burgundy, at times ochre, and ... it takes my breath away. I cannot do it justice, and I claim nothing more than a very subjective attempt to offer you a glimpse of these moments of magic.
